What happens in a Halo Scalp Reset? A step-by-step guide
Walk through the two and a half hour Halo Scalp Reset, from the consultation to the final blow wave, so you know exactly what to expect.
Most people who book their first head spa have one question: what actually happens? Here is how the Halo Scalp Reset unfolds.
The consultation
It opens with a conversation. We first take an in-depth look at your hair and scalp and discuss the symptoms you may have been experiencing: hair shedding, dryness, itching, flaking, thinning, or simply hair that isn’t what it used to be. We also look at the things that may be affecting your hair health, including diet, sleep, stress, relevant nutrient deficiencies and environmental stressors, because hair often reflects what is happening in the body beneath it.
You will leave this part with a tailored treatment plan, and a clearer picture of what your hair may be trying to tell you.
Settling in
The softly lit treatment room is quiet and warm. Sound and aromatherapy run through the whole session, and the aim from here on is for you to do nothing at all.
The scalp reset
Following a relaxing neck and shoulder massage, your scalp is deeply cleansed and exfoliated, which lifts away product build-up, dead skin cells and excess sebum that a normal wash struggles to reach. Our floral Halo water therapy follows, along with steam therapy, while your often-forgotten hands and arms are gently massaged. A nourishing mask is then worked through from root to ends, with the best part still to come: the scalp massage.
The massage
The massage is the part clients tend to describe afterwards as floating away. It is also where a lot of the benefit lives, because tension in the neck and shoulders and a tight scalp go together. Using a range of massage techniques and head spa tools, we awaken all of your senses and release the built-up stress you have been holding on to.
The finish
We don’t let you walk out with wet hair. We take care of you from start to finish, and every treatment ends with a professional blow wave, so you walk out feeling fully restored and rebalanced.
Afterwards
Allow the full two and a half hours and, if you can, keep the rest of the day gentle. Your treatment plan will suggest how often to return; many clients find every four to eight weeks works well.
If you would rather skip the consultation and simply rest, the Pure Scalp Reset is the same restorative experience in two hours.
