A quick wash at the basin is not how things are done at Halo. Here is what the signature shampoo ritual is, and why it is part of every service.
The number one comment I’ve heard in 24 years of hairdressing is “I would pay just to have this part done.” We’re talking about the hair wash. Many salons rush this step, and sometimes that’s just down to timing that can’t be helped. Not at Halo. Around here it’s the hero of your appointment, and the best part is you will never get a sore neck!
What the ritual is
You can choose to opt out, but why would you, when it’s the best part of your visit? Our signature cutting services begin with a deeply cleansing and nourishing scalp experience with soothing massage techniques, carefully selected products, and a few minutes where the only job you have is to breathe. It is far more than a quick wash.
Why it comes first
Healthy hair begins with a healthy scalp. Product build-up, dead skin and tension in the scalp all get in the way of hair doing what it should, and a proper cleanse and massage deals with all three before we pick up the scissors.
It also changes the whole appointment. We don’t want you to feel rushed, and we want your visit to feel like a little slice of self-care rather than just something to fit into your busy routine. Starting slowly means the rest of the service is calmer too, and you’ll leave feeling looked after rather than processed.
Want a longer experience?
It’s not a full head spa, but you can extend it as an add-on to your appointment, which includes a nourishing hair mask and takes your scalp massage to ten minutes instead of three. If you want the full experience, with water, sound, aromatherapy and a proper massage of the neck and shoulders, that is the Pure Scalp Reset.
